The Eragon Series

Warning: lots of spoilers. Ah, finally the last book in the Eragon series. Inheritence. This was my new favorite series. I LOVED this series. So I'm going to write a blog post about it. Its also an amazing series for our ideas, such as power and resistance, which is what the whole series is about. The entire Eragon series is based on resisting an evil Empire. If this isn't power and resistance, I don't know what is. Well, here is how this series is all for power and resistance.
Well first the front and most obvious problem. The point of the book. The Varden (good) fighting against their evil Empire. During the third book, a lot of things happen. Murtagh becomes a Rider, and you find out that there is a second good Rider on the Varden's side (maybe thats at the end of the second book, I forgot). However, the rider that you found out about dies fighting one of the evil riders, well, actually, kind of both of the evil riders. This favors the evil side on the balance. However, the good rider is becoming more powerful, and he figures out the evil riders' weakness. This equals out the fight between good and evil. Also, during the the end of the third book and the the forth book, the Varden starts to capture the Empire's major cities. This tilts the balance torwards the good side. Thats where I am in the series, I'm yet to finish Inheritence.
Then there are smaller power and resistance fights in this series. One of the larger of the smaller power and resistance fights is between Angela and Eragon. Angela always seems to have the upper hand on Eragon. Always. She always seems to be one step ahead of everyone else, even the reader. And the reader almost always is ahead of the story. Even in movies. Another smaller plot is Roran and Nasuada. Nasuada seems to have the upper hand, but if you look closely, Roran seems to get the up side sometimes. He knows rather easily how to make a bad situation for Nasuada, but she seems to figure out what to do sooner or later, which is why she seems to be the one with an advantage most of the time. That's two smaller power and resistance plots in this series.
Well, thats the power and resistance story in the Eragon series, or at least some of it. It would take days to name all the mini-plots in this series. You should read the series to find some of these plots. And if you already have read this story, go back and find more plots. It's really interesting all the mini-plots in Eragon, they're worth finding.
